2023 Beach Trip

This June, we will be having our annual beach trip. This trip is tons of fun, and it will be planned by Elliot Marshall Here are the details:

When: 

Friday, June 2nd : Meet at Winfree at 6pm and plan to leave at 6:15pm. We will set up camp that night. Eat before you come.

 

Saturday, June 3rd : Beach fun, fishing, and opportunity to work on skills/requirements

 

Sunday June 4th : go home mid-day


Where: We will be driving to First Landing State Park (2500 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23451-1415; Latitude, 36.918020. Longitude, -76.051547.)
 

What: This is a trip open to the entire family.  We will wake up Saturday morning to cook breakfast, and then get ready to walk to the beach access.   Fishing is available at the park, Adults will need A valid Virginia saltwater fishing license is required. 

 

Scout trip attendance requirement:  Completion of swim test 5/15 required for attendance on this trip.

 

Parent/sibling/other family member trip attendance: Swim test is not required.  All non-scout attendees are responsible for their own safety. BSA is not liable for your safety.  Parents should be prepared to provide constant proximity oversight at all times for family members, including when in the water.  Life guard presence should not be expected.

 

The recommendation will be for bag lunches for all cooking groups, so we don’t have to come back for lunch.  We will come back to camp for dinner prep and optional skills.


This will be a chill trip, so make sure to sign up as soon as you can!  Please open the sign up and put 1 for Yes and 0 for No so we can plan accordingly.   Meal Planning Is May 22 at 7, so sign up ends May 21st at noon, so I can make cooking groups.

 

Adults, as you sign up on the google sheet for driving duties, please also include if you are willing to pull the troop trailer if needed.
